Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #36 - Halloween Theme

Happy Friday! Today is the start of a new Inky Paws Challenge over on the Newton's Nook Designs blog. This month's challenge is all about creating a Halloween-themed project. I used the new Newton's Boo-tiful Night set to create a fun Halloween scene.
Ink Paws #36 - Happy Halloween by Handmade by Yuki | Newton's Nook Designs: Newton's Boo-tiful Night
I started off with a piece of smooth white card stock I die cut using an A2-sized stitched rectangle die. I inked the background with Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord distress inks. I die cut a black and gray hill using stitched hill border dies. I colored the cute image of Newton and the Jack-O-Lanterns with Copic Markers and then fussy-cut it out, leaving a white border. I white heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of vellum which I die cut using a grassy border die. I die cut a few trees from black card stock. I also die cut a few spooky clouds from vellum and a moon from yellow card stock. To finish the card, I added some black and white twine to the top of the card.

I hope you were inspired by today's card and I cannot wait to see what you create! Don't forget to visit the Newton's Nook Designs blog for more inspiration! ♥

Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #54 - Sketch + Inspiration Photo

Taylored Expressions
Hi crafty friends! Today is the beginning of another Share Joy Challenge. This week I used the sketch to create a fun birthday card using Party Grumplings.
Share Joy Challenge #54 by Handmade by Yuki | Taylored Expressions: Party Grumplings
I die cut a stitched circle from light gray card stock. I stamped the super cute grumpy bunny on the colored card stock and colored him in with Copic Markers. I white heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of dark gray card stock and cut it out using a banner die. I added layers of pattern papers inspired by the sketch. To finish the card, I added a few gray enamel dots.

I know I've said it before, but I really love these grumpings, their expressions always make me smile! I hope you were inspired by today's card and thanks again for stopping by! Be sure to swing by the Share Joy Challenge Blog for much more inspiration. Have a wonderful day! ♥

Newton's Nook Designs - Autumn Wishes

Hi crafty friends! Today I'm up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog sharing a Fall-themed hello card featuring Hedgehog Hollow and Beautiful Leaves.
Autumn Wishes by Handmade by Yuki | Newton's Nook Designs: Hedgehog Hollows & Beautiful Leaves
I started off by die cutting a piece of kraft card stock using a pierced oval die. I stamped the adorable hedgehog right onto the card stock and colored it with Copic Markers. The key to coloring on colored card stock that's not necessarily Copic-friendly is using colors that will easily blend together in order to minimize the amount of layers needed and reduce bleeding. I used the same kraft card stock for the card base and created a stamped background with the leaves. I colored the leaves with Copic Markers as well. To make the hedgehog and background images pop a little bit more, I outlined the images with my W2 Copic Marker. To finish the card, I added some twine to the top of the card.

I just love how this card turned out and I always enjoy using my Copics in different ways. The Copic coloring on the kraft gives the card such a earthy and neutral look, perfect for Fall! I hope you were inspired and be sure to swing by the NND blog for more inspiration. Thanks again for stopping by and have a wonderful day! ♥

Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #53 - Sketch + Color Challenge

Taylored Expressions

Hi again! Today is the beginning of another Share Joy Challenge. This week I incorporated the color palette to create a "hello" card using the Simply Stamped - Roses set.
Share Joy Challenge #53 by Handmade by Yuki | Taylored Expressions: Simply Stamped - Roses
On a piece of smooth white card stock, I stamped the roses in Twirling Tutu, Bubblegum and Doll Pink inks. I used Beanstalk Green and Willow inks for the leaves, I matted the stamped background onto a piece of navy card stock. I stamped the sentiment in navy ink and fussy-cut it out to make it look like  label. I added some natural twine to the main panel and adhered all of the layers onto a Toffee card base.

I just love how pretty this card turned out and I hope you were inspired to play along! Thanks again for stopping by and be sure to swing by the Share Joy Challenge Blog for much more inspiration. Have a wonderful day! ♥

Newton's Nook Designs September Release - Newton’s Boo-tiful Night

Hi crafty friends! It's the final day of Newton's Nook Designs September release and today we're showcasing Newton's Boo-tiful Night.
Happy Halloween! by Handmade by Yuki | Newton's Nook Designs: Newton's Boo-tiful Night

To create my spooky scene, I started off by die cutting a piece of black card stock  using a halloween-themed cutting plate. I cut it again from yellow card stock and inlaid the teenie little windows. I then white heat embossed the sentiment directly onto the die cut piece. I masked off a circle in the upper right-hand corner for the moon and inked up the night sky with Dusty Concord and Wilted Violet distress inks. I then used Squeezed Lemonade distress ink for the moon. I stamped a few bats over the moon and popped the die cut Halloween die over the inked panel with foam tape. I colored the super cute image of Newton as a witch with Copic Markers and then fussy-cut him out. I finished the card by adding a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
