"Have a PURR-FECT Halloween" Card featuring Lawn Fawn

I can't believe it's already almost October, which means Christmas is right around the corner =O! But before I go worrying about Christmas, I still have some time to play with my new Halloween-themed goodies :).

For today's post, I made my first Halloween card of the year. This cute card was made using the new "Spooktacular" set by Lawn Fawn. I just absolutely love the critters and Halloween elements included in this set. However, I must admit, the primary reason I was instantly sold on this set was because of that adorable kitty! I definitely see myself using that kitty all year-round.

To begin my card, I die cut my focal panel out of black cardstock using the 4 x 2 3/4" stitched rectangle die by Lawn Fawn. I did the same out of green cardstock and then die cut two hills using the Mama Elephant "Landscape Trio" set. I heat embossed the really cute sentiment using white embossing powder. And then I colored my stamped images using Copic Markers. Once colored, I die the stamped images using the coordinating dies.

Jack-O-Lantern: YR14, YR16, YR18
Cat: T3, T5, T7, R20
Hat: V12, V15, V17, Y13, Y19
Gravestone: C2, C4, C7

I used two really cute pattern papers from the "Ghouls & Goodies" 6x6 Paper Pack from Doodlebug. For the purple pattern paper, I cut it to an A2 card size to cover up my entire card front. I  cut a thick strip of the green polka-dot paper and adhered it to the center of the card and topped it off with some twine and a bow. I adhered my focal panel using foam tape and finished the card by adding some clear Wink of Stella glitter to the hat and to eyes and mouth of the Jack-O-Lantern.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and thanks again for stopping by! ♥

"It Moose Be Love" Card featuring Lawn Fawn

Hello! I finally feel like it's starting to feel a little bit more like Fall here in LA. Now that the heat wave has finally ended, I've been inspired to break out my newest Fall-themed supplies from Lawn Fawn.

For today's card, I made a sweet and simple card featuring the adorable moose from the "Critters in the Arctic" and the awesome pattern papers from the "Sweater Weather" 6x6 paper pack.

To begin the card, I colored the cute moose using Copic Markers and then die cut him out using the coordinating die.

Moose; E13, E15, E19, E42, E44, T5, T7

I die cut the notebook-style pattern paper from the "Sweater Weather" 6x6 paper pack using the 4 1/2 x 3 1/4" stitched rectangle die. I thought the little hanging hearts would go perfect with the theme and sentiment of this card. Using the notebook lines as a guide, I stamped the sentiment included in the same set. I just love the cute pun! I matted the panel onto a burgundy pattern from the same paper pack. While I was at it, I also die cut a little heart included in the "Critters in the Arctic" coordinating die set using the same burgundy pattern paper.

To create a hill for the moose, I die cut some green pattern paper from the same pack using the same stitched rectangle die and then used the hill die from the Mama Elephant "Landscape Trio" set. I then adhered the moose and little heart onto the panel using foam squares. For the heart, I applied some clear Wink of Stella and a thick layer of Glossy Accents. I then used the A2-sized stitched rectangle die to cut the "sweater weather" pattern paper to completely cover the front of my cardbase. I finished the card by adhering the focal panel using foam tape.

And that's it for today! Really quick card to make and it'd also be pretty easy to reproduce this card using the other critters from this set. I hope you enjoyed today's post and thanks again for stopping by! ♥

"Oh Deer, I missed your birthday!" Card featuring Lawn Fawn

Guess what day it is... it's Friday! Woot woot! And today I have yet another card for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge. Have I mentioned how much I just love the Lawn Fawn critters? Well I do! And I've been having a blast playing with some of my older critter sets.

 photo 90.jpg

I always seem to be short-handed when it comes to belated birthday cards. And while I try to stay on top of everyone's birthday.. well let's face it, I'm human and I forget birthdays too sometimes. So for today's card, I used the deer and "oh deer" sentiment from the "Into the Forest" set by Lawn Fawn.

I started off by cutting a 3 x 3" square out of the quilted pattern paper included in the new Sweater Weather 6x6 paper pack. I then used the grassy border die cut to cut a piece of green/teal pattern from the same paper pack and out of vellum. I stamped the log using ColorBox "Chestnut Roan" chalk ink and fussy cut it out leaving a white border. I decided to turn the log into a tree, so I stamped the leaf image several times in SSS Sunshine, Orange Peel and Schoolhouse Red dye inks. For the deer, I stamped her directly onto some Kraft cardstock and lined the edges with my E42 Copic Marker. I then adhered all of my layers onto my focal panel using glue adhesive.

For the cardbase, I stamped the Hero Arts "Canvas" Background using SSS Khaki dye ink. I then adhered my focal panel onto the cardbase using foam tape. I tied bow out of some teal hemp twine by Lawn Fawn to add some interest and pull in the teal color from the grass.

For the inside of the card, I used "Violet's ABCs" to stamp "I Missed Your Birthday." I thought this went really well with the cute "Oh Deer" sentiment.

And that wraps up my card for today! Pretty CAS birthday card with an Autumn-feel. Thanks again for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful weekend! ♥

Birthday Wishes from the Critters in the Forest featuring Lawn Fawn

Update: I am so absolutely thrilled and honored to have had this card chosen as the winner of the "Critters Galore" Lawnscaping Challenge! :)

 photo QOG.jpg

Hi there again! So when I saw the latest Lawnscaping Challenge was all about the critters, I got super excited! I just absolutely adore all of the little Lawn Fawn critters! So as the title states, today's card is all about the critters in the forest!

 photo 90.jpg

"Critters in the Forest" has got to be one of my favorite all-time critter sets from lawn Fawn. They're all just so adorable and I love all of the forest elements included in this set which I used to make the forest scene for today's card.

I started off by die cutting a piece of white cardstock and vellum using the A2-sized stitched rectangle die by Lawn Fawn. For my background, I used the cloud die from the Mama Elephant "Landscape Trio" to mask off portions of the sky and colored in the background using Tumbled Glass distress ink. I also masked the edges of the paper to keep the stitched portion white while coloring the background. I used the two hill dies from the same Mama Elephant set to cut out two hills out of green cardstock. For the foreground, I used the Grassy Border die by Lawn Fawn to cut two layers of grass in a lighter green cardstock. I love overlapping the grass layers and hills to add dimension to the card without making it bulky.

I stamped all of my images using the My Favorite Things "Black Licorice" Hybrid Ink. This ink is also compatible with Copics and I must say I absolutely love it! It does not bleed and it gives a nice crisp, black impression. If you've been looking for an alternative to the Memento ink, I would highly recommend you give this ink a try! After stamping, I colored all of my images using Copic Markers.

Owl: E42, E44, E47, W2, W4
Raccoon: T5, T7, W2, W4
Tree: E44, E47, YG95, YG97, YG99
Mushrooms: R24, R27, G85, G89, E00, E000

For the sentiment, I stamped the "happy birthday" greeting from the "So Much To Say" set by Lawn Fawn onto the vellum. I then heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder. To assemble the card, I adhered the hills and one of the pine trees directly to my background. I then adhered the layer of vellum which I adhered the remaining elements of my card onto. To add a little dimension to the critters, I put a few foam squares at the top and liquid glue at the bottom of them to make them stand out a little more from the background.

And that's the card for today! I absolutely love how this little forest scene came out and really love the added dimension the layer of vellum gives. I hope you enjoyed today's post and thanks again for stopping by! ♥

Latte Birthday Wishes featuring Lawn Fawn

Hello everyone! First off, I just wanted to quickly mention that my entry for the latest Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge was selected as one of the "Inky Paws Challenge Favorites," woohoo! You can see my original blog post here.

Ok and now back to today's post...

Today's post features a super fun and simple card I made for a friend's birthday. She loves coffee and is extremely talented with typography/hand lettering. So in order to make a card that really captured her personality, I thought it would be so fun to make a coffee-themed birthday card that looked handwritten on a chalkboard.

For today's card, I started off with a piece of black cardstock I die cut from the 4 x 2 3/4" stitched rectangle die by Lawn Fawn. I used Milo and Voilet's ABCs to create my own custom sentiment. These fonts look awesome together and really compliment each other well. I also stamped the coffee mug and mustache face from the new "Love You A Latte" stamp set. I just LOVE the little mustache face, isn't he so cute?? I heat embossed the entire panel with white heat embossing powder and matted my panel onto a pretty chevron pattern paper from the Fancy Pants "Happy-Go-Lucky!" 6x6 paper pack. I used the 4 1/2 x 3 1/4" stitched rectangle die to cut the chevron paper paper.

For the card base, I dry embossed the largest stitched rectangle die which is the exact measurement of an A2 sized card. While it's quite subtle in the picture, in person, there is a nice embossed stitched border. To add a little extra texture, I stamped the Hero Arts "Evelope Pattern" background using SSS Khaki dye ink for a subtle tone-on-tone look. I then tied some twine around the front of the card and adhered my focal panel using foam tape.

For a little extra added touch I stamped the mug, heart, coaster and steam from the same "Love You A Latte" set in the bottom right-hand corner of the inside of the card using the same SSS Khaki ink.

And that's it! I really love the simplicity and cool vibe of this card. I definitely feel like it really captures my friend's personality. I hope you enjoyed today's card and thanks again for stopping by! ♥

"Some bunny is on the way" Baby Card featuring Lawn Fawn

Good morning crafty friends! I hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday! Today's post features a fun and adorable card for the latest Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. This challenge is all about making your own background. So be sure to swing by the SSS Wednesday Challenge blog to play along!

 photo wed-challenge-badge_zpsf506d7ee.png
For today's card, I used a few new stamps from Lawn Fawn's Fall/Winter 2014 release. I used the cute bunny from the "Snow Day" set and the cute mug from "Love You A Latte." I colored them both using Copic Markers.
Bunny: W0, W2, R20
Mug: R81, R85
I cut both images using the coordinating dies. In order to get the bunny to sit into the little mug, I used my craft knife to cut a slit along the inside of the mug. The bunny fit into the mug just perfectly!
For the first background, I used Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed distress inks to watercolor the background. I did this by smooshing my ink pads onto my craft mat and applying the ink with a paintbrush and water. Once my watercolor panel was completely dry, I heat embossed the sentiment from the "Hello Baby" set using gold embossing powder.
For the second background layer, I used the new "Argyle Backdrops" set and repeatedly stamped the outline. I used the small heart included in "Snow Day" and stamped it repeatedly to make a pattern with the argyle outline. I then heat embossed the entire background with gold embossing powder.
To add a little bit more gold, I took a piece of cardstock a little bit bigger than my watercolor panel and smooshed Versamark ink all over it. I then heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. I just absolutely love how it tied in all of the gold on the card and created such a shiny effect!

To assemble the card, I used the stitched rectangle die from the Mama Elephant "Femme Frames" set to cut my gold argyle background. I then used the scallop border die for the cardbase. To finish the card, I added some matching Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

And that's it for today's card. I absolutely love how the card came out and I really enjoyed using my new Lawn Fawn goodies. Thanks again for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful weekend! ♥

S'More Birthday Wishes Card featuring Newton's Nook

Update:

This card was chosen as an "Inky Paws Challenge Favorites!"

 photo FAV_Picks.png

Hello! I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far! Today's post features my card entry for the Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge #13 - Sketch Challenge.

 photo NNDIPC_13_Sketch.png

This card was quite the experience to make. We experienced a power outage yesterday evening and instead of just sitting around in the dark, I decided to craft by book light. I have a pretty bright LED book light that I just clipped onto my craft desk. I was pleased to see everything came out ok when I saw my card the next morning in the daylight lol!

For this card, I started off by creating my own mask. I did this by sketching a hill freehand. I colored the sky using Seedless Preserves and Faded Jeans distress inks to make a fun night sky. For the hill, I used Pine Needles and Peeled Paint. Too add a little interest to the horizon, I stamped the pine trees from the "Love You S'More" stamp set by Lawn Fawn in Hero Arts "Forever Green."

For the stamped images, I used the adorable images from the Newton's Nook "Campfire Trails" and the bear from "Winston's Birthday." I masked off Winston's paw to stamp the s'more to make it seem like he was holding it over the fire. I then colored all of the images using Copic Markers.

Fire: YR14, YR16, YR18, E13, E15, E18
Racoon: T3, T5, T7, W2, W4, R20
Bag & Chips: G43, G45, Y32, Y35
Winston: W0, W2, W4, W6, E18, E42, E44, R20

I fussy cut all of the stamped images and adhered them directly onto my little scene. I matted my focal panel onto some cream cardstock and distressed the edges using Vintage Photo distress ink. For the cardbase, I stamped the woodgrain background stamp from Lawn Fawn's "Woodgrain Backdrops" using ColorBox Chestnut Roan. Again, I distressed the edges using Vintage Photo distress ink. For the sentiment, I die cut a circle that fit the sentiment from the "Campfire Trails" set. I distressed the edges  using the same distress ink and adhered it to two little banner strips from the Lawn Fawn "Dewey Decimal" 6x6 paper pack. I adhered the sentiment onto the card using dimensional foam squares.

I finished the card by adding some clear Wink of Stella glitter onto the fire. Unfortunately, there's not much sparkle left in my glitter pen. I must say I've definitely put the pen to good use and will probably try out some different colors next time I re-order :).

And that's the card for today! I hope you enjoyed today's post and thanks again for swinging by! Until next time ! ♥

Masculine Birthday Card featuring Newton's Nook

I can't believe it's already Monday. I hope everyone's Monday has been BEARable so far (HA! see what I did there?). And speaking of bearable.. and bears, today's post features a very cute stamp set by Newton's Nook called "Campfire Trails." This is an older set, however I just had to get my hands on it. It is just so cute and a really great stamp set for all of the "outdoorsy" guys in my life.
I made this card for the latest Simon Says Stamp  Wednesday Challenge. Simon Says Stamp is currently celebrating STAMPtember with tons of fun giveaways, blog hops and card challenges. So be sure to swing by their Wednesday Challenge Blog to play along for the chance to win a $50 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp!
 photo wed-challenge-badge_zpsf506d7ee.png

So back to today's card... I started off by die cutting the Lawn Fawn stitched journaling card die out of some white cardstock. And then I stamped the very adorable stamp of Winston fishing and colored him in with Copic Markers.

Winston: E42, E44, E47, T5, T7
Jacket: BG13, BG15, BG18
Hat: W2, W4, W6, E19, Y32, Y35, C4
Fishing Pole: E35, E37, E39, C4, C6
Fish: YG95, YG97

For the sentiment, I used the "Another Birthday?" stamp from the "Winston's Birthday" set. To add a subtle border, I used my E42 Copic Marker to color the edges of the panel. I used the stitching as a guide.

For the background panel, I used the same stitched journaling card die to cut a panel from Bazzill "Candy Necklace" cardstock. I thought this teal cardstock matched Winston's vest just perfectly. For some tone-on-tone stamping, I stamped the little hook, firefly and stars using Simon Says Stamp "Audrey Blue" ink repeatedly across the panel. I used a strip of pattern paper from the Lawn Fawn "Dewey Decimal" 6x6 paper pack and I dry embossed the cardbase for some added texture.

For the inside of the card, I decided to keep it simple and stick with the bear theme. I stamped the other sentiment from the "Winston's Birthday" set... I just love the cute pun!

I really enjoyed making today's card and already have plans to give this card to one of my coworkers that loves to fish (how perfect, right?). I absolutely love how versatile these two stamp sets are, especially for masculine cards!

Thanks again for stopping by and until next time! ♥

Supplies:
Copic Markers: E42, E44, E47, T5, T7, BG13, BG15, BG18, W2, W4, W6, E19, Y32, Y35, C4, E35, E37, E39, C4, C6, YG95, YG97

Beep Boop Birthday featuring Lawn Fawn

Hello crafty friends! I hope everyone's having a great weekend so far! Today's post features a CAS, one-layer card for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge and MarkerPOP "Anything Goes" Challenge. I must admit, one-layer cards are tough for me. So this was definitely a challenge and I had a lot of fun playing along!

 photo 89.jpg

 photo Challenge-51.jpg
For today's card, I started off by stamping the hexagon border stamp from the "Interlocking Backdrops" set by Lawn Fawn. Before stamping, I used small bits of painters tape to mask off a few random hexagons. This created the perfect sized gaps to stamp the medium-sized gear from the "Beep Boop Birthday" set. I then colored in the hexagons with Copic Markers (C4, C6, BG13, BG15, Y11, Y13).
I stamped both of the robots included in the same "Beep Boop Birthday" set. For the girl robot, I did some simple masking for the cupcake and bow. I stamped her cute little bow with Simon Says Stamp "Doll Pink" and I stamped the balloon with Simon Says Stamp "Audrey Blue." For the little light rays above the candle, I used Simon Says Stamp "Sunshine" ink. I colored all of the stamped images with Copic Markers.
Girl Robot: C0, C2, C4, R81, R85
Boy Robot: B00, B02, B04, T3, T5, Y11, Y13
Cupcake: BG13, BG15, Y13, Y19
For the sentiment, I stamped the birthday greeting from the same set. To add a little interest, I also stamped the dotted line from the "Hello Baby" stamp set above and below the sentiment. Using my black pen, I hand-drew a black border. I purposely drew it a little messy to add some interest since it was such a CAS card. To finish the card, I added some white sprinkles on the cupcake using my white gel pen and some clear Wink of Stella glitter on the balloon.
And that's my card for today. Super simple one-layer card. I hope you enjoyed today's post and don't forget to swing by the Lawnscaping Challenge blog and MarkerPOP blog to play along!
See you soon! ♥

Owl Notecard Set featuring Lawn Fawn

I can't believe it's already Wednesday! The work week is already half-over, woohoo!

Over the weekend I had a chance to play with some of the new Lawn Fawn stamps. I was so happy when I found out Lawn Fawn was reintroducing the "You're a Hoot" stamp set in their Fall/Winter 2014 release. I just absolutely love this little stamp set! For today's post, I made a cute 4-bar notecard set.

I decided to keep the overall elements of the cards the same, only varying the pattern papers and sentiments. For the focal panels I die cut a piece of white cardstock using one of the new stitched rectangle dies from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the tree branches and sentiments using Colorbox Chestnut Roan, the leaves with Simon Says Stamp Green Apple and the owls with Mama Elephant Hazel pigment ink.  To add a little extra color and definition to the edges, I distressed the edges using Antique Linen.

For the pattern papers, I used the Lawn Fawn "Dewey Decimal" 6x6 paper pack. I die cut the sheets of pattern papers using a larger stitched rectangle die that fit perfectly onto a 4-bar cardbase. I adhered the focal panels directly onto the pattern papers and then adhered the pattern paper layers onto the cardbase using foam tape for a little bit of dimension.

And that's it! Super simple and cute notecard set that you can easily mass produce. I hope you enjoyed today's post. See you soon! ♥

Supplies:
