Lawnscaping Challenge: December Blog Hop

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas! I spent Christmas with family and today I'm actually on my way to Mammoth Mountain for a fun weekend of snowboarding :).

Today is also the last Friday of the month, which means it's time for another Lawnscaping blog hop! I'm the last stop of the blog hop and you should have arrived here from Suzanne's blog. This blog hop is sponsored by Spectrum Noir. So be sure to leave a comment on every blog for your chance to win two sets of Spectrum Noir markers!

This month's blog hop is inspired by the colors turquoise and green. For today's card, I decided to use the new "Bugs and Kisses" set by Lawn Fawn to create a sweet Valentine's Day card.

I used turquoise cardstock for my sky and die cut it from the 5 x 3 3/4" stitched rectangle die. I also die cut two layers of grass using the Grassy Border die. I colored the images  using Copic Markers and cut them out using the coordinating dies.

Mason Jar: B000, B0000, C0, C2, C4
Worm: YG00, YG01, YG03, R20
Leaves: YG13, YG17

For the sentiment, I did some selective stamping and white heat embossed the "be my" and "bug" portions. I replaced the word "love" with the "Scripty Love" die. I slightly offset the green love die cut to give some added dimension.  To finish the card and add a little pop of color, I white embossed the small heart onto pink cardstock and adhered it next to the sentiment.

This card came together pretty quickly and I think the color combination is just so cute. I absolutely love this new set and can't wait to use it more. Thanks again for stopping by and remember to visit everyone else's blogs if you haven't already done so! Have a wonderful weekend! ♥

Meowy Christmas Shaker Card featuring Newton's Nook

Merry Christmas everyone! Just stopping by real quick to share this super cute Christmas shaker card I made a little while ago using the "Newton's Holiday Mischief" set by Newton's Nook.

I created the card base using a scalloped circle die from Sizzix. I then used the SSS "Stitched Circles" dies to create the window of the shaker card and created a snow drift using one of the "Stitched Hillside Border" dies from Lawn Fawn. I white heat embossed the sentiment and little snowflake and colored the background sky using Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire distress inks. I colored Newton using Copic Markers and then fussy cut him out leaving a white border. I finished the card by adding sequins from Pretty Pink Posh

Newton: W0, W2, W4, R01, C0, C2, B91, B93

This was actually one of the quickest shaker cards I've ever made and I love how it came out! I hope you're enjoying your Christmas holidays and thanks again for stopping by! ♥

Mason Jar Gift Tags featuring Lawn Fawn

Hello crafty friends! To celebrate the holidays and thank my coworkers for being so awesome, I made them a set of mason jar gift tags and attached them to mason jars filled with some tasty treats. Since I had to make a total of 10 tags (and of course at the last minute lol), I decided to keep the overall design simple and easy to mass produce.

I used the large tag from the "Tag, You're It" set and the coordinating stamp from the "Thank You Tags" set by Lawn Fawn. I colored the Yeti from the "Yet, Set, Go" set and the tag border using Copic Markers. I kept the coloring pretty simple since I had so many to color. I then stamped the small snowflake included in the stamp set using SSS Sea Glass dye ink. I then stamped the Christmas sentiment from the "Trim the Tree" set.

Yeti: C0, C2, B000, B0000, R01, R24, R27, W2
Tag Border: G05, G17

To give a more finished look and hide the Copic coloring that bled through the backside, I lined all of the tags with red cardstock. I also added reinforcers using the same red cardstock. I used green cupcake liners as mason jar lid covers and attached the tags using "Peppermint Stick" Trendy Twine.

I really love how these simple mason jar tags came out. They were pretty quick and easy to make and I hope my coworkers like them :).

Thanks again for stopping by and hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! ♥

Furry Christmas Card featuring Simon Says Stamp

Happy Friday! I can't believe Christmas is next week, crazy! Today I have a Christmas card that I had made a little while ago and hadn't gotten around to posting it. This card features an older Christmas set from Simon Says Stamp called "Furry Christmas." This is such a cute set and so fun to color! :)

I started off by die cutting my focal panel using one of the Large Stitched Rectangle dies from kraft cardstock. I then used the SSS "Falling Snow" stencil to apply a layer of white texture paste. I used one of the hill dies from the SSS "Stitched Slopes and Hills" set to create a snow bank. I colored the stamped image with Copic markers and then fussy cut it out. I added some detailing with my white gel pen and added Glossy Accents to the antlers. I then adhered the stamped image onto the snow bank.

Large Dog: E35, E39, E17, E18, W0, W2, E42, T5, T7
Small Dog: E42, E44, E47, R37, R39, RV99, TF, T7
Cat: W0, W2, W4, W6, YG97, YG99, R20

For the sentiment, I white heat embossed the speech bubble onto kraft cardstock and fussy cut the sentiment. I finished the card by mounting the focal panel onto a piece of red pattern paper from the Lawn Fawn "Snow Day" 6x6 paper pack and then onto a white cardbase.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and have a wonderful weekend! Thanks again for stopping by!

For this challenge, I made a cute Christmas card featuring the ah-dorable "Winter Penguin" from Lawn Fawn. I just absolutely love this little guy!

I started off by using Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire distress inks to create my winter sky. I used the "Forest Border" die to create my snowy scene. To give the illusion of ice, I die cut a piece of vellum using the "Stitched Hillside Border" die. I white heat embossed the cute heart image from the stamp set directly onto the vellum and then colored the back of the vellum with Tumbled Glass distress ink. I stamped the "Merry Christmas" sentiment from the "Trim the Tree" set onto the frame from the "Sweater Weather" set and then heat embossed them both with Ranger "Liquid Platinum" embossing powder. I then die cut the frame using the coordinating die. I colored the penguin using Copic Markers and also cut him out with the coordinating die. I then mounted my entire winter science onto some pattern paper from the Pink Paisley "Solstice" 6x6 Paper Pack. To add interest to the cardbase, I used the medium "Stitched Scalloped Border" to die cut the edges of the cardbase.

Trendy Twine Guest Designer: Christmas Ornament Card Set

Hello crafty friends! Today is my final day as Guest Designer on the Trendy Twine Blog! It's been such an honor being a Guest Designer and working with such talented ladies! ♥

Trendy Twine

For my final post, I decided to make a set of Christmas cards you could easily mass produce. I used the same basic design for all of the cards and just changed up the color scheme. I just love how Trendy Twine offers such a wide variety of beautiful colors that coordinate perfectly with any project. I used the Simon Says Stamp "Ornaments" stamp set and coordinating dies for the ornaments and "Tickled with Teal," "Blue Berry," "Twisted Lime," and "Peppermint Stick" Trendy Twines to hang the ornaments from.

Trendy Twine Guest Designer: "Meowy Christmas" Gift Tag

Happy Saturday! Today is my second day as Guest Designer on the Trendy Twine Blog! So be sure to swing by their blog!

Trendy Twine

For today's post, I made a jumbo gift tag that can also be used as a card.  I used the largest tag die from the Mama Elephant "Tags A Lot" die set. I stamped the Christmas tree and gift boxes from the "Trim the Tree" stamp set by Lawn Fawn directly onto the tag. I also stamped the kitty from the "Spooktacular" and the Christmas hat from "Hats Off To You." I colored all of the images using Copic Markers. I then outlined the colored images with my B000 Copic Marker. I also went along the stitched edges with my E42 Copic Marker and distressed the edges with "Antique Linen" distress ink.

Cat: W2, W4, W6, R20
Christmas Hat: R37, R39, RV99
Christmas Tree: YG95, YG97. YG99, Y13, Y19, E44, E47, C2, C4, C6
Gifts: RV11, RV13, YG13, YG17, B24, B26, RV66, RV99
I used "Milo's ABCs" to create the custom sentiment and white heat embossed it onto a piece of red cardstock I had die cut with the "Bold Banner" die from Mama Elephant. I then applied Glossy Accents to the star and gift boxes. To finish the card, I added a double bow at the top of tag using "Krafty Red Trendy Twine."

 photo 1400281738944-1151863110.jpeg
I absolutely love how my jumbo gift tag turned out. I ended up lining the backside of the tag with another piece of cardstock so that I can write a message on the backside.  I hope you enjoyed today's post and thanks again for stopping by! ♥

Monster-themed Valentine's Day Card featuring Simon Says Stamp

Hello again! This is my second post of the day. If you would like to see my post as Guest Designer for the Trendy Twine Blog click here.

Today Simon Says Stamp is revealing their Valentine's Day release called Better Together. I know it sounds crazy to even start thinking about Valentine's Day in December, however February is just right around the corner. I had the absolute pleasure of playing with the "Monster Hugs" stamp set. These monsters are just so cute and I love that you could use this set all year-round.

To begin my card, I created the main card panel by die cutting the scalloped frame die from the SSS "Frames" set out of purple cardstock and pattern paper from the "Let's Polka" 6x6 paper pack from Lawn Fawn. I added a purple scalloped circle and two banner strips of coordinating pattern paper from the same "Let's Polka" paper pack. I colored the two monsters using Copic Markers and cut them out using the coordinating dies. I think the little boy monster is my favorite, his expression is just so cute!

Boy Monster: BG10, BG11, BG13, R81, R83, W2, W4, W6
Girl Monster: C0, C2, C4, C6, BV11, BV13, BV17, V01, V04

I stamped the sentiment onto pink pattern paper from the "Hello Sunshine" 6x6 paper pack from Lawn Fawn. I fussy cut the sentiment leaving a border. To make the sentiment stand out even more, I colored the outside portion with my R81 Copic Marker. I added clear Wink of Stella to the box, heart and sentiment. And then added a coat of Glossy Accents to the sentiment. To finish the card, I added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Trendy Twine Guest Designer: Day 12 of "12 Days of Christmas"

Hello crafty friends! This weekend I'm a guest designer over at the Trendy Twine Blog! And today I have the honor of posting the final project for the "Trendy Twine 12 Days of Christmas." For the past 11 days, the very talented ladies from the Trendy Twine Blog have posted super cute and creative Christmas gift ideas. If you haven't been following along, be sure to swing by their blog and check out all of their wonderful holiday ideas!

Trendy Twine

For today's post, I created a super cute gift bag and matching gift tag using "Tickled with Teal" Trendy Twine and different Lawn Fawn products. This twine is super cute and I absolutely love how the different shades of teal match my project perfectly!

 photo 1366229365899-1371415057.jpeg

I created the gift bag using the "Goodie Bag" die and the "Snow Day" stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I started off by stamping the large and small snowflakes with SSS "Sea Glass" dye ink directly onto the gift bag. I then stamped the Christmas tree with SSS "Teal" dye ink and the bow with "Hot Lips." I colored the bunny and bird with Copic Markers and cut them out using the coordinating dies.

Bunny: C0, C2, R01
Bird: BG10, BG11, BG13, R01, Y11

I used the "Stitched Hillside Borders" by Lawn Fawn to create a snow bank for my little scene and attached all of the stamped images using foam adhesive. As a finishing touch, I added some white tissue paper and "Tickled with Teal" Trendy Twine.

For the gift tag, I used the "Birthday Tags" and "Snow Day" stamp set and 6x6 paper pack from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the heart using SSS "Hot Lips" dye ink and colored the scarf using Copic Markers. I cut them out using the coordinating dies.

Scarf: G02, G03, R22, R24

I cut the tag out using the "Tag, You're It" die by Lawn Fawn. I also cut an extra tag out of white cardstock for the backside of the tag. I white heat embossed the sentiment onto a vellum strip and wrapped it around the front of the tag. To finish the tag, I added some "Tickled with Teal" Trendy Twine.

I hope you were inspired by today's post and be sure swing by the Trendy Twine Blog to see much more wonderful inspiration! ♥

Thank You Note Cards featuring Simon Says Stamp + Mama Elephant

Hello crafty friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I have been so preoccupied making holiday cards that I didn’t even realize I was running dangerously low on thank you cards until I had to write a few after my birthday (yikes!).

For today’s notecard set, I decided to keep it simple and use the same set of supplies. For all three cards, I used the new Simon Says Stamp “Highlight Frames” die set, Mama Elephant “Many Thanks” stamp set and Pink Paislee “Solstice” 6x6 paper pack. I did some inlaid die cutting for all 3 cards and just switched up the sentiments and papers to create different looks. I wanted to make sure I created some masculine thank you cards as well.

I just love how I was able to achieve 3 different looks with the same set of supplies and how quick and easy they were to make. I hope you enjoyed today’s post and thanks again for stopping by! ♥

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp “Highlight Frames”
Mama Elephant “Many Thanks”

Snowman Christmas Card featuring Simon Says Stamp

Happy Friday crafty friends! Today I have another Christmas card featuring the super fun “Build a Snowman” set from Simon Says Stamp.

I started the card by creating my own stamped background using the different stamps included in the set. I then mounted my background panel directly onto a red cardbase. I stamped the Christmas sentiment directly onto the background panel using Versafine “Onyx Black” ink. And then I colored the snowman and Christmas lights using Copic Markers and cut them out using the coordinating dies.

Snowman: B0000, B000, R20
Christmas Lights: R24, R27, YG13, YG17, B02, B04

I adhered the snowman onto a snow drift I cut using one of the SSS “Stitched Slopes and Hills” dies. To add stability and dimension to the Christmas lights, I die cut the Christmas lights 3 more times and adhered them all together. I found this to be much easier than trying to fit tiny foam squares behind the thin die cut. I then applied a layer of Glossy Accents to the snowman’s carrot nose and Christmas lights. As a finishing touch, I added some red twine to the card and rounded the two right edges.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and thanks again for stopping by! ♥

My mom’s birthday is in two weeks and I thought the new “Calliope Flourish” die paired with the “Large Tag” die would make the perfect feminine birthday card.

I began the card by die cutting one of the large tags from Bazzill “Butter Mints” cardstock. I stamped the “Envelope Pattern” background stamp from Hero Arts using Hero Arts” Soft Vanilla” dye ink to create a soft, tone-on-tone background (unfortunately, it's not quite obvious in the photos).  I then colored the flower die using Copic Markers and adhered it directly onto the tag. I stamped the birthday sentiment from the “It’s Your Birthday” stamp set by Simon Says Stamp and finished the tag by adding a bow. I used the “Femme Frames” dies by Mama Elephant to create the background layers. I stamped one of the “Sentimental Borders” stamps by Mama Elephant using Simon Says Stamp “Audrey Blue” dye ink. I then die cut some vellum using the scalloped rectangle border and adhered it over the stamped background layer. And finally, to finish the card, I applied some clear Wink of Stella to the flowers.

This flower die is so pretty and versatile and I love that I can use this die for a variety of occasions. I hope you enjoyed today’s post and thanks again for stopping by! ♥

“Friendship has its perks” Coffee Card featuring Simon Says Stamp

Hi everyone! If you haven’t already heard, Simon Says Stamp is celebrating DieCember this month with a bunch of new exclusive dies! And I’ve been having a blast playing with some of their awesome new dies :).

 photo DieCembertrade-2014-600x600.jpg
For today’s card, I used the new “Tea for Three” die set. Although the name says tea, I couldn't help but think of coffee right away. I decided to use pair this die set with the “What’s Brewing?” set to make a quick and simple friendship card.

I created the focal panel by using the 4 x 2 ¾” and 4 ½ x 3 ¼” stitched rectangle dies from Lawn Fawn. I used the polka dot pattern paper from the “Snow Day” 6x6 paper pack for the mat and Bazzill “Butter Mints” cardstock for the focal panel. To create the border, I used the new bracket border die from Mama Elephant. I then I colored in one of the cute, fancy mugs using Copic Markers (G82, G85). And for the steam, I heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. To add dimension to the die cut pieces, I die cut them out 3 more times and glued all of the pieces together using my ZIG two-way glue pen.  I then heat embossed the sentiment from the “What’s Brewing?” set using WOW Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder. For the background, I heat embossed the dashed argyle backdrop from Lawn Fawn with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I die cut the background using the 5 x 3 3/4” stitched rectangle die and mounted it directly onto a grey cardbase.

And that’s my card for today. I hope you enjoyed today’s post and be sure to swing by the Simon Says Stamp blog for more inspiration! Thanks again for stopping by! ♥

This was quite a fun challenge and I definitely had to get creative on how to create a white monochromatic project that still had depth and dimension. I used vellum to create a shadow box-like card. To create the frame, I used the two largest stitched rectangle dies from the "Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables" set by Lawn Fawn. I used "Milo's ABCs" and "Violet's ABCs" to create my custom sentiment. I thought this sentiment was just perfect for the theme of the challenge. I heat embossed the sentiment and pine trees from the "Snow Day" set with Ranger "Liquid Platinum" embossing powder. I then used the stitched hillside border die to create the snow drifts and the Forest Border die for the background.

I absolutely love how the silver embossing and vellum give an extra touch of elegance to an otherwise CAS card. Thanks again for stopping by and if you would like to see more wonderful inspiration, be sure to visit the Lawnscaping Challenges Facebook page! ♥
