In honor of Spring, I decided to make a fun April Showers card featuring the "Abby's Spring Showers" set by Simon Says Stamp.
I decided to keep this card very CAS and try a little something different with the sentiment. I always love the way it looks when a portion of the main panel is cut out. Laura Bassen does an amazing job showcasing this technique and I always think it looks so pretty. I colored the image of Abby and her umbrella with Copic Markers and then fussy-cut them out leaving a white border. I then layered all of my panels onto some SSS "Audrey Blue" cardstock and pattern paper from the Pink Paislee "Hello Sunshine" paper pack. To add a little something extra to the upper right-hand corner, I die cut two small banners from the same paper pack and stapled them to the main panel using my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher Stapler.

I hope you enjoyed today's CAS but cute Spring-inspired card. I found the card a little ironic since it hardly ever rains in Southern California (edit: of course after I write this post, it actually rained haha!). But this card doesn't have to be a seasonal card, it could also be metaphorical and make for a good encouragement card for someone going through a difficult time. I hope you were inspired today and I cannot wait to see what you create! Don't forget to visit the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog to see more amazing inspiration and to play along! ♥
