The Alley Way Stamps October Sneak Peek: Waddle Pals

Hi there! Today is the final day of the October sneak peeks on The Alley Ways Stamps blog. We're showcasing the new "Waddle Pals" set which is just adorable! These little penguins are so cute and perfect for Winter or Christmas-themed cards.

I used the smaller penguins included in the set to create a cute Winter scene. By adding so many layers, it gives the card the illusion of dimension without having to add a bunch of layers of foam tape. While I love my dimension, when it comes to Christmas cards, I do try and make them a little bit more mail-friendly to save on postage.

I just love how cute and simple this card turned out and it'd be easy to mass-produce for the holidays. I hope you were inspired by today's post and be sure to swing by the TAWS blog for more inspiration. Thanks for stopping by! ♥

Patience Brewster - Artist Appreciation

Happy Monday! In honor of the recent Artist Appreciation Month, Patience Brewster, a site that specializes in handmade and handcrafted unique gifts and Christmas ornaments, has invited me to answer a few questions about myself.

1. As a child, do you recall a significant moment when you felt truly
affected or inspired by any particular artwork or artist?
While I enjoyed doodling and coloring as a child, I had never considered myself to be an "artistic" person. It wasn't until I was introduced to paper crafts through an old coworker. I've always had a deep appreciation for handcrafted products and was so inspired by my coworker's work, that one year I decided to make my own Christmas cards. It was quite the learning experience and to this day I continue to learn something new everyday. I love the constant challenge of learning and practicing new techniques and finding inspiration from everything around me.

2. As an artist, what do you hope to convey with your work?
My goal is to spread happiness and creativity. Card making allows me to inspire and connect with others. However, my favorite part has always been to brighten the day of the recipients who receive my cards.

3. What memorable responses have you had to your work?
The most notable responses have been companies who have reached out and have asked me to be a part of their Design Teams. It's been such an incredible honor and privilege to represent the companies I love and showcase their designs.

4. What is your dream project?
I would love to someday be able to collaborate with one of the many wonderful companies I work with to design a new product.

5. What artists, of any medium, do you admire?
Two individuals that continuously inspire me are Sandy Allnock and Kathy Racoosin. They are a constant source of inspiration and always provide unique and artistic approaches to card making.

I hope you enjoyed learning more about me. I would love to read your answers to these questions in the comments below. Thanks again for stopping by!

Simon Says Stamp + Newton's Nook Designs Exclusive STAMPtember Release

Hi there! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend so weekend so far! I'm quickly stopping by today to share a card I made using the awesome new Simon Says Stamp + Newton's Nook Designs exclusive set for  STAMPtember!
STAMPtember® (stmp-tmbr) is defined by Simon Says Stamp in this way... an event intended to inspire, educate, and celebrate the greatness of rubber stamping. Simon Says Stamp was founded in 2002 with an interest in exclusively selling rubber stamps. However, it didn’t take long until we became a One Stop Shop. Now STAMPtember is so much more than stamps! This year you'll also see a focus on many other exciting products like dies, inks, notecards and some special surprises. Our intention is to enhance your stamping experience! Rubber stamps still remain the heart of our business, and we are celebrating by releasing exclusive products with many of the industry's finest brands. Be sure to visit our Blog as the home base for the festivities! Trust me when I tell you that the excitement this year is over the TOP, and we are planning fun surprises to keep you on your toes all month long!
Now how absolutely adorable is this set?! It's absolutely perfect for Fall! I decided to  create a cute Fall-inspired thank you card featuring the adorable image of Newton in the leaves making a mess and Winston raking them up lol! I created my window scene using the Pretty Pink Posh "Storybook 1" die and framed the entire card using the Mama Elephant "Femme Frames" die set. To add a little bit of extra sparkle, I added 4mm and 6mm Gold Metallic Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. And to finish things off, I added two leaves from the Lawn Fawn "Into the Woods" Sequins Mix with a bow on top.

This was such a fun card to make and I really enjoyed coloring the images. Be sure to visit the Simon Says Stamp blog to see much more inspiration from the rest of the team!
