Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #9 - Sketch & Color Challenge

Taylored Expressions
Hi crafty friends! It's Thursday which means it's time for another Share Joy Challenge! For this challenge, I was inspired by the sketch to create a set of three Christmas cards featuring the new set "Critters on Ice." Now that the holidays are right around the corner, I'm trying to work ahead on my Christmas cards and create duplicates when ever possible in order to save time.

I decided to flip the sketch upside down and add the sentiment strip in lieu of the bow. I colored the adorable owl with Copic Markers and cut him out using this coordinating die. I die cut the background and circular frame using stitched circle dies. I then inked the background using Tumbled Glass and Evergreen Bough distress inks. I used the Simon Says Stamp "Falling Snow" stencil to add Ranger Texture Paste and die cut a snow bank using a stitched hill die. I white heat embossed the sentiment onto a piece of aqua cardstock. I then dry embossed the background using the "Bead Board" embossing folder and mounted it onto the an aqua cardbase. To finish the card, I added faux stitching across the top and bottom of the card with my white gel pen.

When it comes to mass-producing cards for the holidays, I find it helps sticking to simple designs and working in an assembly-line fashion. I was able to create all three cards pretty quickly and I just love how they came out! I hope you were inspired by today's card and be sure to swing by the Share Joy Challenge Blog to see more amazing inspiration. Thanks again for stopping by and have a wonderful day! ♥
