Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #55 - Sketch + Tic-Tac-Toe

Taylored Expressions
Hi crafty friends! This week's challenge is very special because it will be the final challenge on the Share Joy Challenge blog. I have had so much fun seeing everyone's creations week after week and I am truly going to miss the challenge! To wrap up the challenge, I made a sweet holiday card using one of my all-time favorite sets, Critters on Ice. This was one of my favorite holiday sets last year and I think I'm still going to be reaching for it quite after this holiday season!
Share Joy Challenge #55 - Warm Winter Wishes by Handmade by Yuki | Taylored Expressions: Critters on Ice
For this week's challenge, I was inspired by the tic-tac-toe. I used sequins, embossing and stripes on my project. I started off by cutting the focal panel from smooth white card stock. I created a light blue sky by inking the background with Sea Glass and Lake Shores inks. I then used a falling snow stencil to apply white texture paste for the embossing. I used the rolling clouds die to cut snowy hills and lightly distressed the edges with Sea Glass ink. I then framed the focal panel with a white stitched border. I used the adorable image of the polar bear and colored him in with Copic Markers. I then cut him out using the coordinating die. To incorporate stripes, I a stamped a pinstripe background with white pigment ink onto a piece of Earl Grey card stock. To finish the card, I added 4mm and 6mm sparkling clear sequins.

I seriously had so much fun making this card. Winter/holiday cards are always some of my favorite cards to make and I hope you were inspired to play along for Taylored Expressions last Share Joy Challenge! Thank you again for all of your sweet comments every week and I hope you'll continue to swing by! ♥

Simon Says Stamp & Newton's Nook Designs STAMPtember Exclusive - Bushels of Love

Hi crafty friends! To celebrate SSS STAMPtember, we're kicking off the week with a Simon Says Stamp and Newton's Nook Designs exclusive collaboration set - Bushels of Love! This limited set is seriously so adorable!!
I created a Fall-themed thank you card using the adorable images of the raccoon and Winston. I started off by coloring both stamped images with Copic Markers and then cutting them out with the coordinating dies. Using watercolor card stock, I inked the background sky with Soft Vanilla, Sea Glass and Audrey Blue dye inks. For the grass I used Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint distress inks. I spritzed the grass panel with water to give it a more distressed, earthy look. I then cut the grass out using a grassy border die. I cut a white frame using a stitched frame die and stamped the sentiment directly onto the sky panel. I then adhered the entire focal panel onto a kraft card base. I added a few sparkling clear sequins and finished the card by adding glossy accents to the wagon and barrel.
Always something to be thankful for by Handmade by Yuki | SSS + NND STAMPtember Exclusive: Bushels of Love
This set is seriously so cute and versatile. I just love all of the different images and fun sentiments! Be sure to check out the Simon Says Stamp and Newton's Nook Design blog for much more inspiration. Thanks again for stopping by and have a wonderful day! ♥

Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #36 - Halloween Theme

Happy Friday! Today is the start of a new Inky Paws Challenge over on the Newton's Nook Designs blog. This month's challenge is all about creating a Halloween-themed project. I used the new Newton's Boo-tiful Night set to create a fun Halloween scene.
Ink Paws #36 - Happy Halloween by Handmade by Yuki | Newton's Nook Designs: Newton's Boo-tiful Night
I started off with a piece of smooth white card stock I die cut using an A2-sized stitched rectangle die. I inked the background with Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord distress inks. I die cut a black and gray hill using stitched hill border dies. I colored the cute image of Newton and the Jack-O-Lanterns with Copic Markers and then fussy-cut it out, leaving a white border. I white heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of vellum which I die cut using a grassy border die. I die cut a few trees from black card stock. I also die cut a few spooky clouds from vellum and a moon from yellow card stock. To finish the card, I added some black and white twine to the top of the card.

I hope you were inspired by today's card and I cannot wait to see what you create! Don't forget to visit the Newton's Nook Designs blog for more inspiration! ♥
