Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #24 - Sketch + Clean & Simple

Hi again! This is my third post of the day, below are links to my previous posts today.

Taylored Expressions
Hi again! It's Thursday, which means it's time for a new Share Joy Challenge! This week I used the sketch to create a fun and happy friendship card featuring Sunshiny Day.

I followed the sketch pretty closely this week. In lieu of twine, I tied some pretty, yellow ribbon to the focal panel. Although the ribbon does not make the card very mail-friendly, I think it just adds such a cute look to the card. This will definitely be a card I had deliver or mail in a bubble mailer. I created the cute Spring scene by layering two stitched hills I cut from green cardstock. For the trees and background, I used pattern paper from the Build A Scene paper pack. I colored the sweet owl with Copic Markers and then fussy-cut it out, leaving a white border.

This card is just so sweet and I had so much fun playing along with this week's challenge. I hope you were inspired by today's card and be sure to swing by the Share Joy Challenge Blog to see more amazing inspiration. Thanks again for stopping by and have a wonderful day! ♥

Simon Says Stamp - Friendship Bloom Card Set

Hi crafty friends! I'm back sharing a sweet card set featuring the new Friendship Bloom stamp set from the new Simon Says Stamp "Reason to Smile" release. I absolutely love the sentiments included in this set, so much that I used all three sentiments to make a set of cards!

I started off by die cutting three white panels using an A2-sized stitched rectangle die. I die cut the bottom of the panels using a stitched scallop border die. For some added interest, I off-set the border die. I then used my MISTI tool to quickly stamp the images onto all three of the panels and then colored the stamped images with Copic Markers.

I used kraft cardstock for the cardbases and stamped the Gingham Background stamp onto the cardbases with white pigment ink. I rounded the bottom two corners and popped up the focal panels onto the cardbases with craft foam.

I then added 4mm and 6mm Clear Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh. And as a finishing touch, I covered the flowers with Clear Wink of Stella glitter and added Shimmer Pico Embellisher to the berries.

I just love the way this card set turned out! This set is so incredibly versatile and I really enjoyed coloring the images too. I hope you were inspired today and be sure to check the full "Reason to Smile" release and the SSS Brand Gallery for much more inspiration! Thanks again for stopping by!

Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #29 - Color Challenge

TGIF, woohoo! I hope you have some fun plans this weekend. I've been pretty swamped with work lately, but I'm so excited to take a break and enjoy the weekend! It's that time of the month again and there's a new Inky Paws Challenge on the Newton's Nook Designs blog. For this challenge, I was directly inspired by the image and used the challenge colors to create a kitchen window scene using the new Made from Scratch set.

I used the Pretty Pink Posh "Stitched Duo 3" set to create the window panel. I then colored the images with Copic Markers and then die cut them using the coordinating dies. To add some additional contrast against the red pattern paper, I die cut a strip of white cardstock using one of the Pretty Pink Posh stitched border dies. I used a side-folding cardbase and once I had put everything together, I realized I wanted to add some twine going across the cardbase. This was no problem, I simply used my craft knife to cut a small slit along the crease of the cardbase and wove the twine right through. Now this does mean that you can see the twine from the inside of the card, however that doesn't really bother me. To finish the card, I covered the images in Clear Wink of Stella glitter and added Pico Shimmer Embellisher to the little hearts.

I just love how sweet this card turned out and had so much fun playing along with this challenge. I hope you were inspired by today's card and I cannot wait to see what you create! Don't forget to visit the Newton's Nook Designs blog for more inspiration! ♥
