Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #46 - Sketch + Inspiration Photo

Taylored Expressions
Hi crafty friends! Can you believe it's already the last Thursday of August??? This summer is seriously flying by and I've been enjoying the gorgeous weather here in Seattle. Today I'm sharing the last challenge of the month for the Share Joy Challenge. This week I used the inspiration photo to create a fun summer-themed card using the Summer Grumplings set.

The fruit medley reminded me of a refreshing summer snack, and what better summer treat than ice cream! I incorporated the colors from the photo in today's card. I colored the focal image with Copic Markers and dry embossed a red card base with the dotted lattice embossing folder. To finish the card, I added some black and white twine to the side of the card.

I know I've said this before, but I seriously love these summer grumplings. They are just too cute and always make me giggle. I think this would be a perfect card to send to one of my friends from Southern California. Thanks again for stopping by and be to swing by the Share Joy Challenge Blog. Have a wonderful day! ♥

Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #45 - Sketch + Color Challenge

Taylored Expressions
Hi crafty friends! It's Thursday which means it's time for another Share Joy Challenge! This week I was inspired by the sketch to create a fun birthday card using the Party Pals set.
Share Joy Challenge #45: It's Your Birthday! by Handmade by Yuki | Party Pals by Taylored Expressions
I started off by coloring the fun party hat with Copic Markers. For some reason I completely forgot this set included the coordinating dies and I fussy-cut it out (oops!). Fortunately, it was easy enough to cut out. I kept the design pretty true to the sketch and only modified a few elements such as the banners and extra background layers. As an extra touch, I also added some blue twine to the top of the card.

This was another fun, quick and easy card and I hope you were inspired to play along! Don't forget to swing by the Share Joy Challenge Blog to see more amazing inspiration! Thanks again for stopping by and have a wonderful day! ♥

Newton's Nook Designs - Mahalo

Hi crafty friends! Today I'm up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog sharing a fun beach-themed card using the new Aloha Newton set.
Mahalo by Handmade by Yuki | Aloha Newton by Newton's Nook Designs
I started off by die cutting smooth white card stock using two stitched squares dies to create a frame for the focal panel. I stamped the cute image of Newton on a hammock onto the main focal panel. I then extended the lines of the sand with my Copic Multiliner pen. I then colored the entire scene with Copic Markers. I stamped a canvas background onto a kraft card base for a subtle tone-on-tone look. For the sentiment, I used the banner die from the Garden Window Diet Set and layered a piece of dark brown card stock behind the sentiment banner to help make it pop.

I had so much fun coloring this image and love the way this card turned out! I hope you were inspired and be sure to swing by the NND blog for more inspiration. Thanks again for stopping by and have a wonderful day! ♥

Pretty Pink Posh + Avery Elle Blog Hop

Hi crafty friends! Welcome back to day two of the Pretty Pink Posh and Avery Elle collaboration blog hop! You should have arrived her from Heather Campbell's blog, however if you're just joining in now, you'll want to hop on over to the Avery Elle blog to start from the beginning.

For today's card I used the Avery Elle Woodland Wonders set and the Pretty Pink Posh Storybook 4 die to create a sweet birthday card. I started off by stamping the birch trees directly on the background and masking them off them with masking paper. I inked up the background sky with Peacock Feathers and Shaded Lilac distress inks. For the grass I used Lucky Clover distress ink and a grassy border die. I colored the critters with Copic Markers and then fussy-cut them out, leaving a white border. I added some natural twine to the top of the card and finished it off with a few sparkling clear sequins.
