Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #50 - Sketch + Inspiration Photo

Taylored Expressions
Hi crafty friends! In last week's post, I thought it was the last Thursday of the month. I must have not been paying attention to my calendar because clearly today is the last Thursday of August, whoops lol! But regardless, I hope you've had an amazing summer and August so far. I know for a lot of you, the end of August means back to school. For me, approaching the end of summer means we're that much closer to the holiday card making season! So for this week's Share Joy Challenge, I've started my holiday card making early and used one of my favorite sets, Critters on Ice, to make a cute Christmas card inspired by the sketch.

I kept the design pretty close to the inspiration sketch. I started off by coloring the adorable moose with Copic Markers then cut him out using the coordinating die. I stamped the sentiment onto a stitched banner and used a few pieces of holiday pattern papers from last year's collection. I then adhered all of the layers onto a Toffee card base.

I just love how cute and simple this card turned out. You could easily take this design and mass produce a bunch for the holidays. It'd be so fun to use the different critters and mix and match different pattern papers, too! Thanks again for stopping by and be sure to swing by the Share Joy Challenge Blog for much more inspiration. Have a wonderful day! ♥

Newton's Nook Designs - Make Lemonade

Hi crafty friends! Today I'm up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog sharing a sweet summer-themed card using Freshly Squeezed.
Make Lemonade by Handmade by Yuki | Freshly Squeezed by Newton's Nook Designs
I started off by die cutting a piece of white card stock using an A2-sized stitched rectangle. I then cut a stitched hexagon from the panel. I kept the inner hexagon piece and stamped the image of cute Winston in his lemonade stand. I then colored the entire scene with Copic Markers. I popped the white panel onto a card base with foam tape and then adhered the inner hexagon piece directly onto the card base. I hand drew vertical lines with a pink Copic Markers onto a separate piece of white card stock and cut it out using a straight scalloped border die. I stamped the sentiment and then added matching pink sequins to the front of the card.

I just love how sweet this card turned out! This would make the perfect card to send to a friend having a bad day or just as a sweet card to say hello. I hope you were inspired and be sure to swing by the NND blog for more inspiration. Thanks again for stopping by and have a wonderful day! ♥

Taylored Expressions
Hi again! Today is the final Share Joy Challenge for the month of August. I hope you've been having a wonderful summer. I still can't believe how quickly these months have flown by! For this week's challenge, I was inspired by the sketch and used Sunshiny Day to create a fun and cheerful card.

I followed the sketch pretty closely and just added a few tweaks here there. I added a full scalloped border to the bottom of the focal panel in yellow card stock. For banner strip in the background, I cut two stitched banners from Toffee card stock. I die cut another small banner from red card stock and stapled that to the focal panel with my tiny attacher. For the background, I used matching orange polka dot pattern paper. To finish the card, I added some natural twine.

I just love the warm, neutral colors and how sweet this card turned out. This card would be perfect for the end of summer or even into fall! Thanks again for stopping by and be sure to swing by the Share Joy Challenge Blog for much more inspiration. Have a wonderful day! ♥

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Hedgehog Hollow

Hi crafty friends! Today is the final day of Newton's Nook Designs August release! We're finishing the week with the super adorable set, Hedgehog Hollow. I was seriously so excited when I saw a set with hedgehogs, these little guys are just too cute!!
I colored the cute stamped images with Copic Markers and then fussy-cut them out, leaving a white border. I cut piece of blue card stock using a stitched rectangle die and stamped a houndstooth background in the same shade of blue ink for a tone-on-tone look. I know it's quite subtle in the photo, but in real life the pattern is much more obvious. I used green card stock for the grass and added some fun grass texture with Copic Markers. I stamped the sentiment onto the layer of clouds which I popped onto the top of the focal panel.
