Newton's Nook Designs October Release - Ornamental Newton and Festive Forest + Coordinating Dies

Hi there! It's the final day of Newton's Nook Designs holiday release and today we're showcasing two more amazing stamp and coordinating die sets - Ornamental Newton and Festive Forest!
The first card I made features the Ornamental Newton stamp and coordinating die set. I started off by inking my background using Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover distress inks. I then spritzed the background with some water to give the background  fun distressed look. I colored the cute image of Newton on the ornament with Copic Markers and then cut him out using the coordinating die. I used a hole punch to cut a circle from the top of the ornament in order to be able to tie add some twine. I used two stitched rectangle dies to create a white frame and adhered the twine to the back of the frame to make it look like Newton and the ornament are hanging from the top of the frame. I white heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of vellum. To adhere the vellum, I glued each side of the vellum to the white frame and added tiny pieces of clear foam tape to the sentiment for added stability. To finish the card, I added a thick coat of glossy accents to the ornament and 4mm sparkling clear sequins.

For the the Festive Forest stamp set, I created a set of CAS mail-friendly Christmas cards. Although I love my dimension, sometimes one layer cards are just the way to go when you need to send out a ton of holiday cards.

Before I started the actual cards, I created a quick template using a piece of scratch typing paper. This really helped me align my images and know exactly where to stamp each tree. Once I got the layout, I used my mini MISTI to stamp all of the different trees in different colors. Although you don't need a MISTI tool to create these cards, let me tell ya, it sure made stamping the images a breeze! I heat embossed the sentiment tree in gold embossing powder. To finish the cards, a gold star to the top of each gold embossed tree. I ended up creating a total of four cards and making them in an assembly-style fashion made it super quick and easy!

Newton's Nook Designs October Release - Holiday Tweets

Welcome back! Today is day three of Newton's Nook Designs holiday release! Today we're showcasing Holiday Tweets.
I started off by stamping the adorable image of the two birdies and sentiment onto a piece of white card stock using mini MISTI. I colored the image with Copic Markers and then added some glossy accents to the hearts, berries and ornaments. I framed the focal panel with a white scalloped frame. I then used blue polka dot pattern paper for the background.  To tie in the scalloped frame, I die cut the card base using a scalloped rectangle die.

Newton's Nook Designs October Release - Beautiful Baubles + Coordinating Die and Pines & Holly Die

Welcome back for day two of Newton's Nook Designs holiday release! Today we're showcasing the Beautiful Baubles stamp and coordinating die set and the Pines & Holly die set. Both of these sets are so versatile and you can either use them separately or together to make really fun holiday-themed cards!
The first card I made features the Beautiful Baubles stamp and coordinating die set. I colored the ornaments with Copic Markers and then cut them out with the coordinating dies. I applied a thick coat of glossy accents to give them a fun dimensional look, like real ornaments! While the glossy accents dried, I die cut a piece of Sea Glass card stock using an A2-sized stitched rectangle die. I inked up the colored card stock with Peacock Feathers distress ink and Sea Glass dye ink. I recently saw Yana do this in one of her recent YouTube videos and thought it was such a great idea! It was a real time saver and made it super easy to get a nice solid inked background without all of the extra effort. I then die cut a piece of white card stuck using a scalloped border die and heat embossed the sentiment in metallic silver. Once my ornaments were dry, I used metallic twine to adhere them to the white panel to make it look like they were hanging. To finish the card, I added sparkling clear and metallic silver sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

My second card showcases the Pines & Holly die set. I created a wreath using one of the leafy dies and cut the other elements from colored card stock. I used mini glue dots (the ones I use for sequins) to adhere all of the small die cut pieces onto a white panel. Using the glue dots made it so much easier to position the small pieces and it also gave me enough wiggle room to adjust as needed.  I white heat embossed one of the sentiments from the Beautiful Baubles set on black card stock. To dress up the wreath, I added 4mm and 6mm metallic red sequins from the Pretty Pink Posh Classic Christmas sequin mixes. For the card base, I used a straight scalloped border to die cut the edges of a red card base. And to finish the card, I added some black and white twine to the top of the focal panel.
